Industry entrepreneurs were recognized for their achievements as the Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) announced the winners of the seventh annual Cosmetic Innovators of The Year (CITY) Awards, at a dinner on Wednesday, June 20th at the Manhattan Penthouse in New York City. Janet Gurwitch, founder and former CEO of Laura Mercier Cosmetics, Pam Busiek, CEO and president of ICMAD, and Ian Ginsberg, chairman of the board of ICMAD, presented the awards to the 14 winners. The winners were selected by a panel of industry experts, who casted their votes based on innovative products, packaging, and advertising/marketing concepts from 2011. Packaging winners included: Best Fragrance Packaging: Crafting Beauty-It’s Me by Jacomo; Best Color Cosmetics Packaging: NYX Cosmetics-Haute Jersey Leopard Couture; Best Skin Care Packaging: HSS Sales-Hevia MD Skin Science; Best Bath & Body Packaging: Dayna Decker-Essence Wash & Lotion.
